We need a united and global response from our governments and world leaders across country borders and party lines. You can help by letting your politicians know that addressing the planetary boundaries and climate change is a priority for you and encouraging them to be part of the solution.

Politicians have a long list of issues, which can make it hard to get their attention. But strong public demand increases the likelihood that governments will prioritize action on climate change. Leaders around the world have pledged to tackle climate change, and we already have working solutions available, so now we need to make politicians know that we, the voting public, think climate change is important and urgent.

Let your politicians know that you want them to take action by writing to them, meeting with them, signing petitions, becoming a member of action groups, using your vote and encouraging others to do the same.

Benefits

As individuals and communities we can take steps to significantly reduce our own carbon emissions. But this won’t be enough unless our politicians work with us to create the projects, laws and incentives that will deliver the bold and rapid system-wide changes we all need.

Although it can feel intimidating to speak to your politicians, many people find it a positive experience that helps them understand local issues, connect with others and feel part of broader efforts in their community.
